HEROES & VILLAINS

Metro Boomin

About “HEROES & VILLAINS”

HEROES & VILLAINS is Metro Boomin’s sophomore studio album, following his November 2018 project NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES.

HEROES & VILLAINS was revealed to the world on November 18, 2021, when Metro’s close friend DJ Holiday revealed a note about a new project, reading:

DJ Holiday,
I cannot believe it’s been 3 years since we released NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES.

Thank you for your continued support.

HEROES AND VILLIANS COMING SOON!!

The project’s status was left in the dark until September 16, 2022 when Metro released an album announcement through YouTube—ultimately revealing a November 4 release date.

Despite this, on October 26, 2022, Metro Boomin published a tweet mentioning how the release date would have to get pushed back to December 2, 2022, due to sample clearance issues.

Nearly a month later, on November 22, 2022, Metro Boomin shared the album cover through his social media, which references the cover of the British rock band Pink Floyd’s 1975 studio album Wish You Were Here.

The album is divided into two sides: “Heroes” and “Villains,” with Metro having fans guess which side guests would appear on in the days leading up to the album’s release.
