Sadnecessary

Sadnecessary, Milky Chance’s debut album, is both light and playful, and dark and remorseful. It follows a central character who does all he possibly can to win his childhood lover back.

In an interview with the Huffington Post, member of Milky Chance Phillipp Dausch spoke about the meaning of Sadnecessary:

On the one side, you’re sad now, but on the other side, you’re happy, looking forward to turning that sad feeling into a hoping mood. And that’s just what it pictures in the music: a sad melody with sad lyrics, but the whole song has a happy and dance-able mood.
