CLOUDS (THE MIXTAPE) is NF’s first mixtape and project release of 2021 which comes almost two years after the release of his highly successful album The Search.
The mixtape was officially announced on February 18, 2021 at the end of the music video for the track “CLOUDS”, which serves as an intro to the mixtape.
The mixtape features appearances from rappers Hopsin and Tech N9ne, marking the first time NF has had a rapper featured on his project since Marty’s appearance on the April 2016 song “Grindin'”, off of NF’s sophomore album Therapy Session.
The album’s three singles were: “PAID MY DUES,” which NF had released as a supposed standalone single in December 2019, “CLOUDS,” which came out on February 18, 2021, and “LOST” feat. Hopsin, which came out on March 11, 2021.

What have the artists said about the mixtape?
NF:I didn’t want to release a full-length if I couldn’t tour it, because it’s a huge part of my records. I like to build shows with stuff from the covers, stuff from the videos — I like making it all one thing.

CLOUDS (THE MIXTAPE) is a short project I wanted to put out while I work on my next full-length album. It’s really just something for the fans to have while they wait.
