About “Me vs. Me”

Me vs. Me is the third mixtape by Memphis-based rapper, NLE Choppa, following up on his sophomore mixtape, From Dark to Light.

After a couple of standalone singles, “Final Warning” and “Letter to My Daughter,” the mixtape’s official roll-out began on August 13, 2021, with “Mmm Hmm” being the first promotional single. Three months later, on November 5, 2021, Choppa had released his third single, “Jumpin” featuring Polo G.

A day after the release of his third single, on November 6, 2021, NLE Choppa announced the official cover art and the album’s pre-sale went live.

Releasing his last two singles “I.Y.B” and “Drop Shit” both in the matter of a months time, the official release date would be set for January 14, 2022.

The final single, “Too Hot,” released on January 14, 2022, featured Moneybagg Yo: meanwhile, Rap Caviar revealed the official tracklist, presenting features such as Young Thug and G Herbo. Choppa later posted his own tracklist with a slightly different design.

Despite setting a release date on the pre-sale of the album on Apple Music, while previewing a track titled “STILL HOOD” on his Instagram, he left a caption ensuring a change in the release date:

While promoting the album on Twitter, NLE Choppa posted a picture of a brand new back tattoo, reading “Me vs Me” surrounded skulls and the artist himself having angel wings rising.

On January 21, it was announced the album will be delayed of a week, out of respect for the late Memphis native Young Dolph, who was paid homage to on the same day with a special project. On January 28, the album officially dropped alongside the official music video for “Shotta Flow 6”.
