MTV Unplugged

About “MTV Unplugged”

Paramore recorded with MTV, for their television series MTV Unplugged, a five-song acoustic set in order to promote their new album Brand New Eyes. It was recorded on July 6, 2009, and it featured two songs from their sophomore record Riot! (“That’s What You Get” and “Misery Business”) and three of their then-upcoming record Brand New Eyes (“Ignorance”, “Brick By Boring Brick” and “Decode”).

Here are some images of the performance:

“MTV Unplugged” Q&A

  • Where can I view the performance?

  • What have the artists said about the album?

    Hayley told MTV News:

There’s a lot of stuff on the new album that’s quieter, and we’d like to think we’ve grown a bit, so we wanted a place to show that new side of us off. And so this was really awesome. It felt like we were doing an in-store performance, a real intimate one, and not a TV show or something.

  • What is the band's history with MTV Unplugged?

    Hayley told MTV News:

I remember watching Korn ‘Unplugged,’ and Dashboard Confessional ‘Unplugged,’ too. I stayed up really late when I was babysitting to watch it. I only sort of remember the Nirvana one, though, and I don’t remember the LL Cool J [performance], which was apparently legendary, too. We were, like, 6 when that happened.

When did Paramore release MTV Unplugged?
