Recovery

Recovery is the Savannah, Georgia, native, Quando Rondo’s sophomore full-length studio album following his November 2022 YoungBoy Never Broke Again-assisted collaborative mixtape, 3860.

Teased for years following the release of QPac, Quando’s debut studio album, the album was first officially teased by Quando through his Instagram on February 9, 2023, in which he announced a March release alongside a documentary:

Weeks later, on February 27, 2023, through an Instagram post of what seems to be a throw-away cover art, Quando noted that the album is dedicated to Lul Pabb, Quando’s close friend who was shot and killed next to him in August 2022. The album features Quando rapping about the pain he felt from the death of his friends and illustrates Quando’s mental recovery.

The album was preceded by five singles. The album’s lead single, the YoungBoy Never Broke Again-assisted “Give Me A Sign” was released on August 30, 2022, appearing on both 3860 and Recovery. The album’s second single, “Speeding” was released on January 22, 2023. Just a day later on January 23, the album’s third single, “Long Live Pabb” was released. “Me First,” the album’s fourth single was released on February 15, 2023. Just a month later, the album’s final single, “Tear It Down” was released on March 9, 2023.

Following the release of “Tear It Down,” on March 10, the album had become available for pre-order. Later that day, Quando officially announced the album and tracklist, showing a sole guest feature from NBA YoungBoy.
