Rick is Ricky Montgomery’s sophomore album. It is the American singer-songwriter’s first full-length studio album since his 2016 debut, Montgomery Ricky.

Following the release of his 2022 sophomore extended play, It’s 2016 Somewhere, Ricky released the album’s lead single, “Eraser,” on April 7, 2023. The album’s second single, “Don’t Say That,” was released on May 19th, 2023.

In June of 2023, a blurb was added to Ricky’s Spotify profile confirming the album’s title and its release date slated sometime in 2023:

In 2023, we get to meet Rick, a sophomore set that comes seven years later, rich with electro-laced, emo-tinged alt-pop that spins stories about life in all its messy and mundane glory.

After the release of this information, Ricky soon followed up with the album’s third single on June 14, 2023, titled “Black Fins.”
