About “Nostalgia”

Nostalgia is St. Petersburg native, Rod Wave’s fifth full-length studio album following his November 2022 EP, Jupiter’s Diary: 7 Day Theory and his fourth full-length studio album, August 2022’s Beautiful Mind.

Following the release of the album’s lead single, “Fight The Feeling” on March 31, 2023, Rod had taken to Twitter to state that he’s working on a new album.

While he teased the album’s release for months, on August 17, 2023, Rod officially announced the album and its cover via his Instagram prior to the release of the album’s second single, “Call Your Friends.” Another three singles, “Come See Me,” “Boyz Don’t Cry,” and “Checkmate” were released in the week of the album’s release.

Shown by the singles, the album has a warm R&B feeling with a subtle use of Rod’s rapping skills as he often sings about heartbreak and betrayal in his life amongst himself and his peers or ex-partners while he raps about the struggle he overcame in a motivating manner, noting that if he can do it, anyone can.
