all the things i never said is Tate McRae’s debut EP, released January 24, 2020. It features singles “tear myself apart,” “all my friends are fake,” and “stupid.” The project is the first from Tate after signing to RCA Records in 2019.
The first hint to the EP was when Tate ‘loved’ a YouTube comment on her acoustic video for “tear myself apart” expressing someone who speculated the song was part of an album.
Tate later confirmed in an article the name of the EP and the number of tracks. The EP was then put up for pre-order on her Sony Music page and Tate announced her first national tour supporting the EP, which sold out completely. The artwork was also posted on her Instagram a week before its release.
Tate via Genius' “all my friends are fake” verified meaning video:
I think the biggest thing about [my fans] is that they connect so incredibly close to my lyrics. And that’s, like, my whole life. That’s how I talk about things. Those are all the things I could never say in words.
The EP’s title is also the title of her first national tour, which sold out completely in the first month of ticket sales.
