With Roots Above and Branches Below

The Devil Wears Prada

About “With Roots Above and Branches Below”

With Roots Above And Branches Below is the third studio album from Christian hardcore band The Devil Wears Prada. After its May 5, 2009 release, it reached #11 on the Billboard 200 selling 31,000 copies in its first week. This made it the band’s most successful album at the time of release. While only #11 on the Billboard 200, it reached #1 on the Christian, Hard Rock, and Independent album charts.

The writing of the album began after the 2008 Vans Warped Tour. For all their tour dates after the summer of 2008, they started performing “I Hate Buffering” for their live audiences. They claimed that this album was going to be darker and heavier than their previous albums, and also stated that the songs would feature a cleaner song structure, including a wider use of choruses.

The only additional artist featured is Trevor Wentworth of Our Last Night off the track “Danger: Wildman”.
