Libertad

Velvet Revolver

About “Libertad”

The second (and likely final) album by Velvet Revolver. In a 2007 interview with Rolling Stone, late singer Scott Weiland said Libertad was the first record he’d made without cocaine or heroin since Stone Temple Pilots debut album.

“It made it a lot easier,” he said. “My output level was enormous. I had idea after idea after idea. With heroin, at first there’s a lot of benefits — it allows you a certain amount of objectivity. After a while, you lose the connection to the heart, to the emotion. It’s like you have this narcotic wet blanket wrapped around your soul.”
