About Dave Bixby

A psychedelic folk legend who’s only album full of burnout hippie and philosophical loner folk would become one of the most beloved and sought after of it’s genre. Dave Bixby was born in Michigan who spent his time playing in bands such The Shillelaghs and Peter and the Prophets. In is senior year of high school he encountered LSD for the first time, and after a year of drug abuse he went through withdrawal and decided to seek religon for help. He was then persuaded to create an album, “Ode to Quetzalcoatl,” which was named after the Aztec god of mankind. He found it fitting, as he felt he had been reborn. He would later for the band Harbinger releasing a second album, Second Coming. After that he went on with his life until renewed interest of his music sprouted up. In 2018, A$AP ROCKY sampled “Morning Sun” in his song “CALLDROPS ft. Kodak Black,” on the album TESTING.
