About Jessica Pavone

Jessica Pavone (b. 1976, Queens, NY) is a classically trained violist and composer. As a session musician, she has made the rounds of the indie rock scene, contributing to bands such as Vampire Weekend and Dirty Projectors, but she is also well versed in the free jazz scene, working with Matana Roberts and Anthony Braxton.

A versatile performer, Jessica Pavone is also known for leading the J. Pavone String Ensemble as well as her duo work with Mary Halvorson.
