Masked DJ and producer Marshmello and American rapper Lil Peep team up for “Spotlight”, Peep’s first posthumous release following his untimely death in November 2017.
“Spotlight” will mark the first and only time Marshmello and Lil Peep have collaborated and the first release of 2018 for both artists.
When Marshmello was asked about releasing the song he said this on twitter
I didn’t plan on releasing the song until Peep’s [sic] mom reached out and told me she wanted her sons [sic] music to come out…what am I supposed to do?
