Sam Carter

AKA: Samuel Carter and Samuel David Carter

About Sam Carter

Sam Carter is the lead vocalist for UK Metalcore band Architects. Carter studied drums at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music, and performed in several local bands as a drummer and an occasional vocalist before joining Architects in 2007 (after the departure of founding vocalist Matt Johnson).

Carter is known for his raspy-screamed vocal delivery, which has evolved with every release. His lyrics were based on personal experiences such as cannabis dependency, conflicting love, or simple instances as “sitting in a car with friends”. Sam collaborated with guitarist Tom Searle on the politically charged lyrics in Daybreaker. With the albums Lost Forever // Lost Together and All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us, he left Searle with all lyrical duties.

Carter has been featured in songs with acts such as Deez Nuts, Bring Me The Horizon, Stray From The Path, and Atreyu.
