Another week gone, another bite size portion of What’s Poppin' to chew on throughout the week!

The Chainsmokers dropped their EP and another single, this time with vocals from pop duo, XYLØ. I’ll be honest, I like The Chainsmokers a lot better when they’re not singing, so this release seems like a great move for them/this EP’s promotion. Shouts out to @nzboss99 and @PeterAbel for the scribe here, and to @nzboss99 and @AlexTheHorseD for getting the sidebar looking shiny with some solid song bio and Q&A work. It looks like the Q&A is asking for something about XYLØ and this collab, if we have any fans in the house?

This corny throwback track is slow burn flames, but the lyrics aren’t precisely Shakespeare. The two annotations up right now are alright, and I’m not sure this song needs much more than good stewardship to make sure nothing too crazy ends up on the page as we head toward the full album drop this Friday. However, if you’ve still got a craving for some Bruno IQ, “Chunky” could use a good scrub.

Bonus, a big win for @genius-deutschland, who got this hit into the overall pop charts this week.

I can tell you the artists sang this song at a big concert in Dresden last week, but not why that was a big deal. Anybody up on the German zeitgeist wanna tell us why the track suddenly blew up?

• Fergie’s new release from last Friday is too new for WP, but has lots of red.
• Charlie Puth put out new songs, too, which we’ll probably be seeing again next week.
• Pop’s Year End List is going into the next stage this week, so follow that thread and keep an eye on the horizon for even more year end shenanigans.

According to the internet, it’s on the Special Deluxe Version of her suprisingly succesful comeback album Muttersprache. The special edition was released on November 4th, perhaps that’s why. It seems the song was already quite popular when it was used for promo back in early fall.
