This album looks like it will be very different than TA13OO and seems like less of a concept album. I’d be completely fine with an album full of bangers like this and “Ricky”!

Taboo was underwhelming but this looks like it could be a fun album. Looking forward to it. The Black Balloons Reprise track with FlyLo was amazing too.

It’s not really disdain, people just see the amount of praise it got (AND DESERVED) and call it “overrated” so they can look cool. It’s a goddamn PHENOMENAL album.

Never understood the disdain for TA13OO honestly, probably one of the best albums of 2018.

Not much disdain against it really, it’s widely considered one of the best albums of last year. I really wanted to like it, and thought I would (you can find several posts on here from before the release claiming Denzel could do no wrong), but it never clicked with me. It’s not really that I find it bad, but the album just doesn’t live up to what Denzel is trying to do with it, resulting in an underwhelming listening experience. Too many of the tracks are decent but nothing more, and nothing on here lives to the best of Imperial and 13 in my opinion. I admire Denzel for such an ambitious project though, and am very happy for his success and acclaim. The album just wasn’t for me, but I got a feeling I’ll like this one more.
