This album is f phenomenal

Wow. I can see that y'all are hyped about this album. For a while, I had never heard of Slipknot until I played Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. Ever since then, I have been hooked on their music. In my own opinion, I think that Corey Taylor & the others made this album stand out from who they once were.

@moderndays true, it’s a really good song even though as a single I was trying to be more harsh and critique it more. However, it’s a really good song even though contextually it does not fully reveal the subject without googling it (or looking on genius) imo. One of my fav songs is Critical Darling — it has a good groove to it. The ending on “Red Flag” is amazing too, but my headphones can’t really handle it properly lol. “A Liar’s Funeral” — a pretty relatable song, I like the contrast.

@artx_doyle I totally agree, but even then, sometimes having a little bit of mystery as to what the song is about can open it up to different and unique interpretations to each person, which is such a crucial and one of my favourite aspects of music.
I interpreted it as a song about Corey’s struggle with depression and as he is in this depressive, unfiltered mindset, he sees all the sugarcoating of horrific events and bad situations that someone who is looking more optimistically wouldn’t notice, and how he’s trying to tell everyone that they’re ‘living a lie’ while they’re just trying to ‘fix’ him.
I also now understand it as the intended meaning, but that’s how I first saw it, if you were also wondering aha.
