Overhated some of the best flows in the game…I think he does a great job of displaying intelligence without getting lost in it. I think he’s grounded enough to attract some party vibes. def not as esoteric as lupe. Idk why so many cast him as pretentious or whatever. Big fan of Soul, one of my 10 favorites right now no doubt

Fairly rated. He gets deserved credit for Control System and his general skill, while he’s also deservedly criticized for how underwhelming (and in my opinion outright bad) his last two albums were, as well as his many poor verses and cringeworthy lines.

tb to when Soul went on Sway to promote DWTW as an album that brought awareness and empowerment to women, while simultaneously maintaining that when he referred to women as bitches, he was doing so without malice– and therefore they should find no reason to take offense. and the other women at the radio station were visibly uncomfortable with this rationalization. like bro ur a PoC, how do u not get how hypocritical/tone deaf that is?

also i havent heard DWTW in years but i dont remember it being v female empowering. frankly i dont remember it having a cogent message of any sort.
