21 years ago, Nas released “It Ain’t Hard To Tell,” the first single from his debut album Illmatic. The marijuana loving MC made this joint after being inspired by Rakim’s “Don’t Sweat the Technique.”

With the far more recent release of Illmatic XX, Nas has blessed us with remixes of his first single, such as the Stink Mix, The Laidback Remix and Illmatic XX Remix as well as some dropped knowledge via verified tates.

After originally performing this song live with Chance The Rapper in 2014, Jeremih opts for a J. Cole verse for the album version. The track is a steamy love affair revolving around The Mile High Club, with both artists getting their freak on.

For his first track release since Yeezus, Kanye drafted musical legend Paul McCartney of The Beatles.

“Only One” is a message of support for Kanye from his late mother. Touchingly, Donda asks Kanye to “tell Nori about me”. It’s hard not to draw parallels with Paul’s 1969 tribute to his own mother, “Let It Be”.

There are rumours that Paul and Kanye have recorded several songs together. If they’re all this good, we’re in for a treat.
