Where My Christmas Lives Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Light me a candle, I’m coming home
Then leave it by your side where I belong
I’ve been in this cold world for so long
So Light me a candle, I’m coming home

[Chorus]
I want to feel the love that’s in the hearts
Of all the ones that make us who we are
Thankful for the ones we have and what we have to give
In this heart set loves
That’s where my Christmas lives

[Verse 2]
Snow on the window, asleep by the fire
Somehow these children never get tired
Missing the ones that, we wish were here
Remembering the ones who look on but we don’t shed a tear

[Chorus]
I want to feel the love that’s in the hearts
Of all the ones that make us who we are
Thankful for the ones we have and what we have to give
In this heart set loves
That’s where my Christmas lives
In these heart set loves
That’s where my Christmas lives
[Verse 3]
All along the halls are ringing
Choirs singing Christmastime is gone
In trees the lights are streaming
Children gleaming Christmastime is gone
Oh we still knowing Christmas time is gone
Oh we still knowing

[Outro]
I wanna feel the love that's in the hearts
Of all the ones that make us who we are
Thankful for the ones we have and what we have to give
In this heart set loves
That's where my Christmas lives [x3]

Genius Annotation

This is the title track of American rock band 3 Doors Down’s second acoustic EP. The other seven tracks are acoustic takes on songs from their 2008 self-titled album, plus an acoustic version of this song.

Frontman Brad Arnold explained to Artist Direct why he decided to pen a Christmas song:

“We were already planning on the EP being released around Christmas, so we did want it to have a bit of a Christmas feel.

I’ve never written a Christmas song before, and it sounded like an interesting challenge, honestly. I was glad because it gave me a chance to explore and think about what Christmas means to me—being around your family, being with your friends, being with the people that you love and being thankful for those things.
