This song is presumably about a young girl named Sarah (hence the title, Sarah Yellin') who has shot her father. Though the reason why she has done this isn’t explicit, it’s implied to be because of some sort of abusive behavior. (I.E.: “Father, how could you ever treat me this way?”)
