Breathe Lyrics

[Verse: Joji]
You found the best of me inside your feelings
The worst of me was waiting for that evening (Evening)
It's just me these days, I can't say I'm great
I can't stop seein' your face on all these ceilings (Ceilings)
You saved me for the last time, I'm alright (I'm alright, I'm alright)
I'll find somebody else to watch me die (Watch me die, watch me die)
Somebody I can push away and reel back in
Like the bait that I am, I am

[Chorus: Joji]
So let me know, let me know when we gonna find the time (The time, the time)
So let me know, let me know when I get a little bit wise
If you hear me count to four
Sedate me 'til I'm normal

[Bridge: Joji]
Won't you be a darling, feel my rage
Make me feel fantastic, broke my cage
Hold my breath, until you call my name, again
I can't say what's on your mind but I know we think the same (The same)

[Outro: Joji]
So let me know, let me know when we gonna find the time
So let me know, let me know when I get a little bit wise
If you hear me count to four
Sedate me 'til I'm normal

About

Genius Annotation

“Breathe” is a collaborative effort between Joji and long-time 88rising DJ and producer, Don Krez. This is the second time the two have collaborated, after “Red Rubies.”

The song was initially leaked one year prior to its release as “Lemme Know” and became a mysterious hit among fans, but slowly faded into obscurity in the coming months.

The song features a hypnotically melodic vocal act and psychedelic production. Joji appears to be singing about a relationship in which he felt “trapped in a cage,” or suffocated.
