Moto Psycho
Megadeth(???) Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Responsibility, an anchor around my neck
Dependability, made me a nervous wreck
Accountability, I live from check to check
Volatility, neglect and no respect

Got my wheels in motion and I got a path to beat
I hit the road to I don't know and look for Tough Shit Street
One-way ticket nowhere there's no windows on this train
Can't see where I'm headed but I'm going there again

Moto Psycho (going nowhere)
Everybody is a
Moto Psycho move it or lose it baby
Moto Psycho (going nowhere)
100 Miles an hour
Moto Psycho I'm a Moto Psycho
Moto Psycho

You know you can't resist to tell me what I mean
You gave my mind a twist said that I was unclean
The actor runs the play and ad-libs in between
You're all that I resent my thoughts were so obscene

Got my wheels in motion and I got a path to beat
I hit the road to I don't know and look for Tough Shit Street

One-way ticket nowhere there's no windows on this train
Can't see where I'm headed but I'm going there again

Moto Psycho (going nowhere)
Everybody is a
Moto Psycho move it or lose it baby
Moto Psycho (going nowhere)
100 Miles an hour
Moto Psycho I'm a Moto Psycho

One-way ticket nowhere there's no windows on this train
Can't see where I'm headed but I'm going there again

Moto Psycho (going nowhere)
Everybody is a
Moto Psycho
Moto Psycho (going nowhere)
Move it or lose it baby
Moto Psycho

Where I'm headed I don't know
But I'm shoving off and I hit the road
Moto Psycho (going nowhere)
Im a Moto Psycho

Moto Psycho (Im going nowhere)
Moto Psycho (going nowhere)

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Megadeth's song "Moto Psycho" describe a sense of restlessness and dissatisfaction with the mundane aspects of life, such as responsibility, dependability, and accountability. The singer feels trapped by these obligations and longs to break free, hitting the road and seeking out something more exciting and fulfilling. The chorus, "Moto Psycho," can be interpreted in a few different ways - it could refer to the singer's own restless nature, or it could be a critique of a society that values speed and progress at the expense of personal well-being.

The second verse introduces a new element to the song: the idea that other people are trying to impose their own interpretations and expectations onto the singer. This is reflected in the line "You know you can't resist to tell me what I mean," suggesting that the singer is being told how to think and feel by someone else. The sense of anger and rebellion that comes through in lines like "You're all that I resent my thoughts were so obscene" indicates that the singer is pushing back against this influence and asserting their own individuality.

Overall, "Moto Psycho" is a song about breaking free from societal expectations and pursuing one's own path, even if that means going nowhere in particular. The lyrics suggest that this can be a difficult and sometimes painful process, but ultimately it is worth it to feel truly alive and free.

Yes. Yes it is.

Agreed in that they shook off their sellout form that they adopted after Rust On Peace. Signing off, a 1973 born fan who's been a fan since 1989 and saw them plenty of times in the early 1990s.. way early 90s by the way... Before they followed Metallica sell out route.

I'm not saying it's the best Megadeth album. But I'm glad that you've given it the credit that's due. It's a bit underrated and I'm glad to see comments like yours. Sincerely responding to some fellow fan of this ln the Internet (instead of some troll from Megadeth trying to promote a former album)

It absolutely kicked ass.

adamgh0

That was my first Megadeth album. I checked it out from the library when I was 18 and it still hits home today.

Side 1 is. That being said, from my humble opinion, it's too bad that the rest of the world could not catch on to what you or I were saying
