The canon background story is that Afterglow is a band of five childhood friends. When Ran (Vo.) moved to a different class in middle school, the girls made a band so they could still see each other. Now in high school, they love playing in their band, practicing after school and playing live shows. They get along famously and almost never fight. Though they're still fairly inexperienced, they gained popularity for their powerful performances and strong vocals.

Within the album, certain tracks such as "Susie's Gone," "It's A Wonder," and "Afternoon" embrace a noticeably psychedelic quality.

They have released two love songs themed albums as well as two country albums produced in Nashville called "Close to Home" and "No Love Lost."
Over the years, Joel and Kevin have toured the United States, Canada, England, Japan, and Brazil. The departure of these three members marked a significant change for the group, and they took a break from their activities for approximately nine months.
In March 2018, AFTERGLOW regrouped and welcomed vocalist keito, bassist Ryo, and drummer Yuichiro as new members. A New Heart
Afterglow Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Help me love more nearly like my Savior's love for me.
I need a new love.
To change my heart completely.
Feel my life as sweetly as my Savior's love for me.
I've read the words they wrote, I've heard things they said.
How all at once a change will come forever heart in hand.
I've heard that over night a heart becomes brand new.
And I'll tried to live life everyday to find my way to thee.
But of all the things you offered me, this change is what I need.
A new heart, to help me see more clearly.
Help me love more nearly like my Savior's love for me.
I need a new love.
To change my heart completely.
Feel my life as sweetly as my Savior's love for me.
Until my heart is broken, my heart can not be healed.
Until my heart has found humility.
For though He stands awaiting,
The latch is on my side. This door can not be open but by me.
I need a new heart, to help me see more clearly.
Help me love more nearly like my Savior's love for me.
I need a new love.
To change my heart completely.
Feel my life as sweetly as my Savior's love for me.
I need a new heart, to help me see more clearly.
Help me love more nearly like my Savior's love for me.
I need a new love.
To change my heart completely.
Feel my life as sweetly as my Savior's love for me.
These lyrics are an expression of the singer's desire for a spiritual transformation through the gift of a new heart. The lyrics express a need for clarity, love, and a complete change in one's heart, to reflect the love of God more closely. Despite the struggle to achieve this change, the lyrics suggest that the key lies in finding humility and in taking personal responsibility for opening the door to the transformation.
Throughout the song, the lyrics talk about the need for a new heart that will allow the singer to love as their Savior does. The lyrics also express feelings of inadequacy and struggle, recognizing that the change being sought is not an immediate or easy one. The lyrics suggest that the transformational process requires a commitment to striving for betterment, but ultimately lies in finding the key to opening the door to the transformation.
