I know that′s not what you wanna hear
Can we save it for later
Because I know why you called me here
Cause we both know that this road is coming to an end
But for a moment just say something to make me feel whole again
That you fall in love all over when you look into my eyes
That I'm everything you′ve been trying to find
Cause everything is gonna be alright sounds better than goodbye
Go on and let me down easy now
But you know I'll just hang on
Cause everything that you're talking about
It′s nothing that I want
We both know that I won′t leave without a fight
So for a moment wrap me in your arms and tell me one more lie
Tell me that I blow your mind
That you fall in love all over when you look into my eyes
That I'm everything you′ve been trying to find
Cause everything is gonna be alright sounds better than goodbye
You won't finish what you started
Just know this ain′t what I wanted
To try and stop these tears
Tell me what I want to hear
Tell me that I blow your mind
That you fall in love all over when you look into my eyes
That I'm everything you′ve been trying to find
Cause everything is gonna be alright sounds better than goodbye
The song "Better Than Goodbye" by Alexandra Kay is a beautiful and emotional song about a person who knows that their relationship is coming to an end, but they still want to hold onto it for just a little while longer. The song starts off with the person asking their partner for a favor, even though they know that it's not what their partner wants to hear. The person wants to save their conversation for later, knowing that they called them there to end things.
However, the person who is singing the song wants to hold onto the happy moments they once shared, so they ask their partner to tell them one last lie. They want their partner to tell them that they blow their mind, that they fall in love all over again when they look into their eyes, and that they are everything their partner has been trying to find. The person knows that everything is going to be alright, but it sounds so much better than saying goodbye.
The chorus of the song is powerful and emotional. It highlights the fact that the person wants to hold onto the happy moments they once shared with their partner; they don't want to let go just yet. The lyrics are beautifully written, and the melody of the song further enhances the emotional impact of the lyrics.
