What you think about me
I won't try to argue
Or hold it against you
I know that you're leaving
You must have your reasons
The season is calling
Your pictures are falling down
The steps that I retrace
The sad look on your face
Timing and structure
Did you hear he loves her?
A day late, a buck short
I'm writing the report
On losing and failing
When I move, I'm flailing now
And it's happened once again
I'll turn to a friend
Someone who understands
And sees through the master plan
But everybody's gone
And I've been here for too long
To face this on my own
Well, I guess this is growing up
And maybe I'll see you
At a movie sneak preview
You'll show up and walk by
On the arm of that guy
And I'll smile and you'll wave
We'll pretend that it's okay
The charade, it won't last
When he's gone, I won't come back
And it'll happen once again
You'll turn to a friend
Someone who understands
Sees through the master plan
But everybody's gone
You've been here for too long
To face this on your own
Well, I guess this is growing up
Well, I guess this is growing up, mm
This is growing up
Alexandra Kay’s song "Dammit" is a cover of the Blink-182 song of the same name, which was released in 1997. The narrative of the song revolves around heartbreak and growing up. The lyrics are conversational in tone, with the singer reflecting on a failed relationship and confronting the reality of growing up. The song begins with the singer acknowledging that the person she once loved is leaving and that she understands that they must have their reasons. The season is changing, and reminders of their relationship are falling down around her in the form of pictures.
The second verse reflects on the singer’s own struggles with moving on from the relationship. The line “Did you hear he loves her?” suggests that there is another woman who has come between the two lovers. The singer is lamenting that she missed her chance and is writing a report on losing in love. She acknowledges that she is lost and flailing in her attempt to move on. The chorus reveals that the singer has no one left to turn to for comfort; all her friends have moved on in their own lives, leaving her to face the harsh reality of growing up alone. The final verse reflects on the possibility of seeing her ex-lover again in the future. She imagines a scenario where they bump into each other at a movie sneak preview, and she sees that he is with someone else. They smile and wave, pretending that everything is okay, but the singer acknowledges that the charade won’t last.

That is the perfect comment! Cause not everyone has the same interests in music types and coming from someone who listens to everything and loved blinks version! Im one who take the lyrics in more than music or anything else and there’s so many rap, heavy metal, punk emo, and other song that the lyrics are deep but some people don’t know them so it’s great to see these kind of songs done differently for other people to feel the power of the lyrics
@The_B3aver
