C.V.P has released two instrumental albums during this time, Sexy Finger (2003), and Sexy Finger II (2004). As he has often said, his stage name was created from the place he was born and raised (Mie prefecture, where there is Suzuka's racing "circuit"), his favorite guitarist (Steve Vai, in which homage he adopted the letter V.) and his look (many people think he looks like a "panther", especially when he has pink-dyed hair).

In March 2006 C.V.P and two other members left the Japanese metal band SEX MACHINEGUNS to pursue other musical interests, and formed the band "Cycle" in December 2006. He now simply refers to himself as "Panther".
