With a keen grasp on textural and emotive songwriting, Fennell combines bare piano, minimalist synth and string-scapes, and etherial vocals to create the sounds of SYML. Accumulating many previous placements in TV and film with Barcelona, Fennell is no stranger to crafting songs that evoke movement and image when you close your eyes. Ranging from dark to light and sad to hopeful, SYML’s songs are sure to take the listener on a journey through the senses.

[Verse 1]
I went to Paris (Texas)
With a suitcase in my hand
I had to leave
Knew they wouldn't understand
[Chorus]
When you know, you know
When you know, you know
It's time, it's time to go
When you know, you know
Then the more you know
It's time to go
[Verse 2]
I took a trip to Spain
Just a notebook in my hand
Then I went to see some friends of mine
Down in Florence, Alabama
[Chorus]
When you know, you know
When you know, you know
It's time, it's time to go
When you know, you know
That it's time to leave
Like the summer breeze
[Bridge]
When everyone's star is bright
Brighter than you are
It's time to go
And you're the only one left
Dancin' while they're on the floor
Time to go
[Verse 3]
I flew back home
It seems everything's the same (Venice, California)
Except that you weren't home
“Hello,” I call to no one (But)
Outro]
When you're home, you're home (Venice, California)
When you're home, you're home (Venice, California)
You're home, when you're alone
When you're right, you're right
When you're right, you're right
Even when you're wrong

O garip his var yine sende
Her şeye rağmen mutlu olmak

This morning I released my first-ever "piano" song. I've released some piano versions of songs before, but "I Wanted To Leave" is the first song that was written for the piano.
I have a history of being in beautiful places and having a nagging feeling to leave. Even when I’m with people I love, these places start to feel cold and less like home the more I’m there. I think life is full of these juxtaposed environments where we pressure ourselves to stay or go. I wrote this song in Paris, such a beautiful city rich in culture and history. And when I started feeling the urge to leave, this melody emerged.
I'm looking forward to releasing a few more of these in the coming months so I hope you enjoy.

So beautiful and soothing ♥♥

It's weird. To me, the melody isn't sad or happy. It's weird. It evokes a strong feeling but I cannot categorize it, it's like it made me feel a peaceful void. It's weird and soothing at the same time.
Thank you for creating this. I love it.

I definitely feel a similar way. I wonder if it can be called anemoia, or a nostalgia for something which can’t be expressed.
