But if I mention race in a song I'm scared I'll get killed for it
It's concerning that discussing race is viewed as dangerous, leading to fear and censorship

It's backwards, it's getting exponentially dumb
Things are moving in the wrong direction and becoming increasingly irrational

It's more difficult to get a job than purchase a gun
The job market is tough, while acquiring a gun is easier, which is concerning

Eminem used to gay bash and murder his mom
Eminem used to have problematic lyrics, but has since developed and grown as an artist

And now he doesn't want fans if they voted for Trump
It's respectable that Eminem wants to separate his work from those who have different values

We're ashamed to be American, you should probably love it
It's unfortunate that people feel shame about their country, when they should appreciate the freedoms it provides

People have the right to say what they believe without fear of violence or persecution

As children we were taught how to walk and talk
We are taught basic skills as children, but then pressured to be quiet as adults

But the system wants adults to sit down and shut up
The system seems to be pushing for people to stay silent and comply

Cancel culture runs the world now, the planet went crazy
People are quick to cancel others for their beliefs or actions, which is causing chaos

Label everything we say as homophobic or racist
People are quick to use accusations of homophobia or racism, even when not applicable

If you're white then you're privileged, guilty by association
Being white is often viewed as being privileged, even if an individual has not experienced this themselves

All our childhood heroes got MeToo'd or they're rapists
Many people who were once viewed as heroes have been accused of sexual assault, which is disheartening

They never freed the slaves, they realized that they don't need the chains
Slavery was abolished, but the system found other ways to keep people oppressed

They gave us tiny screens, we think we free 'cause we can't see the cage
Technology has given us the illusion of freedom, even though we may still be restricted

They knew that race war would be the game they'd need to play
Divisiveness and race are used as tools to further oppress people

For people to pick teams, they use the media to feed the flame
