The Fall Lyrics

[Intro]
The fall, the fall, the fall
I keep stumbling back

[Verse]
Ivory bone opera glass
Angles of attack
You heard blood was thick, brothers and sisters
But ya don't know where anybody's at
Time was a bust
You thought you'd better be tough
Nobody gets past
The trembling wire

[Chorus]
And all eyes on you now, on you
We're all holding our breath
(The fall) All eyes on you now, on you
We're still holding our breath

[Bridge]
We all break a little
We all break a little
We all break a little, when we fall
And evеrybody keeps saying, "Get up, get up"
[Outro]
The fall, thе fall, the fall, mm-mmh
"Go on, get up"
The fall, the fall, the fall, mm-mmh

Genius Annotation

Released May 16th 2023, The Fall was the first song released to the public from the Appaloosa Bones, which is slated for an August 18th 2023 release.

When asked what inspired him to choose this song as the early release, Isakov explained:
“'Before the Sun' was going to be the first song. ‘The Fall’ was an outlier. I wrote it sort of about a trapeze artist in the 1800s, and it’s set in an old theater. It originally just didn’t fit with the other songs. It had a different vibe. I found a brother and sister song (Mistakes, and Watchmen) for it later in the record, but I didn’t know for a while where that one should go. But it always delighted me when I heard it. Putting it at the beginning seems like the only place that it makes sense.
