Superbloodmoon Lyrics

[Verse 1: Holly Humberstone]
Last night was a car crash
Was a dead conversation
But you were dead right
It's been twenty-five since our last goodbye
Wanna know how you're sleeping
If you're still mine

[Chorus: Holly Humberstone, Holly Humberstone & d4vd]
Yeah, we could dive if you want or we could slow it down
It's a cold kinda love from a distance
So can we strip down to our vitals?
I'm obsessed with your design
And I've missed your soul forever
And I've missed your soul forever

[Verse 2: d4vd]
Last night, do you remember it right?
I'm still holding on to the patience like a sharp knife
And it's bloody and it's gory, but that's quite alright
And I hate telling thesе stories 'cause I'm petrifiеd

[Chorus: Holly Humberstone & d4vd]
And we can take a flight, drive a car, or we could slow it down
It's a desperate kind of love that I'm missing
So can we strip down to our vitals?
I'm obsessed with your design
And I've missed your soul forever
And I've missed your soul forever
[Outro: Both, Holly Humberstone & d4vd]
I saw a super blood moon in the sky
Can you see it from where you are?
Can you see it from where you are, yeah?
Can you see it from where you are?
I saw a super blood moon in the sky (Super blood moon in the sky, uh)
Can you see it from where you are? (Ain't no matter where you are)
Can you see it from where you are? (Ain't no matter where you are)
Can you see it from where you are?

About

Genius Annotation

On the phenomenal “Superbloodmoon”, Holly teams up with American artist d4vd to reflect their environment while touring, and how being on the road affects their sense of identity, harmonizing the story of star-crossed souls thousands of kilometers apart yet unified, sharing the view of a remarkable moment together.

The alt-pop single, archived in the British star’s notes app for a while, is carried by a gloomy electric guitar, strummed alongside the duo’s vocals, as the two artists sing a message of longing for loved ones.

The month of August in 2023 gifted the world with two supermoons. Being released in late July 2023, Humberstone promoted the song on social media at an opportune time, reposting pictures of the rare occurrence that she asked her fans to take.

What did Holly Humberstone say about "Superbloodmoon"?
Genius Answer

Holly Humberstone:

I had been a huge fan of d4vd’s work for about a year and was lucky enough to catch him while he was in London. It came pretty naturally as we had both been touring for what seemed like forever, and wanted to write about the feelings that come with leaving your home and the people you love behind. I had the title for the song on my notes, and it just stemmed from there. We wrote about witnessing the same thing from opposite sides of the world and feeling lonely but connected through that experience at the same time.

d4vd:

Holly and I met in London and wrote this song in just a few hours. It was really effortless and special. We both loved the idea of a Superbloodmoon and two people witnessing the same thing no matter where they are in the world. We also got to perform it together at my show in London a couple months ago, which was the first time I’ve ever gotten to collab with someone onstage like that and it was really fun. I’m very grateful to Holly for having me on this song.
