Satellite Lyrics

[Intro]
(Del Ray, baby)
665
I know what it is
I done heard it all (Del Ray, baby)
Hahaha (Del Ray), yeah

[Verse 1: Violent J]
Your life's shitty (Wow), is that what you said, man?
Try and tell that to a dead man
In the red, man, stressed in the head, man
No bitch in the bed, yeah, I been there
Well let me try to steer you up here, Sabu
That'll cheer you up, sad fool
You got kids that love you and if not? (No)
You got a roof above you and if not? (No)
You got two legs beneath you and if not? (No)
At least you ain't getting beat down and shot (Yup)
You still got a lot, a lil' spot, a lil' cot, a lil' pot
Tube socks, the dude on the block is sleepin' on two rocks
And you got more than him in that shoebox
You got a best friend and dude rocks
And it's you your crew jocks
So load the jukebox and do a few shots
'Cause you ain't got a tombstone like 2Pac
[Chorus]
Bless me with the sight of a satellite
I can't always see from here
Can't always see clear from down here
Bless me with the sight of a satellite
I can't always see from here, the bigger picture disappears

[Verse 2: Shaggy]
(Freedom), shouldn't be tooken for granted
Or in my opinion, you deserve a dick implanted
In your rectal hole and another in your cocksucker
'Cause you a cocksucker, motherfucker
Motherfucker, motherfuckers like you
Ain't motherfuckin' right, dude, I'll fuckin' fight you
Shit, you can fall in love at any time
It don't cost a dime, but being locked up is lost time
My homie Esham pointed out
The worst punishment for crime is when they fuck off your time

It's worth more than anything, money, sex, love
All of the fuckin' above
The Dirtball's a playground all the way around
Explore it and clown, and pray you stay around
So quit yelling, "Life sucks," adore this
You'll understand when you're full of rigor mortis

[Chorus]
Bless me with the sight of a satellite
I can't always see from here
Can't always see clear from down here
Bless me with the sight of a satellite
I can't always see from here, the bigger picture disappears
[Verse 3]
Out here, we all Pac-Mans in a maze runnin' from ghouls (Every day I'm hustlin')
But like fools, we tend to overlook the privilege and the right
To be given this life
We focus on the bullshit and the strife
Shit ain't always right, but what's wrong? A car line long
Much worse, a hearse
We ain't better off in a coffin in some church
Or with Lurch in the morgue filleted like perch
(Life sucks), we've all sang that song 'til we heard the fat gong
Buried in a dirt nap lawn, like
Boy, was I wrong, that wasn't that long
Let me go again and get my mack on
Realize the prize, recognize game and peep
And don't be a lame sheep and don't sleep
You got a lot to live for, think not and get more
Love life, it's what the shit for

[Chorus]
Bless me with the sight of a satellite
I can't always see from here
Can't always see clear from down here
Bless me with the sight of a satellite
I can't always see from here, the bigger picture disappears
Bless me with the sight of a satellite
I can't always see from here
Can't always see clear from down here
Bless me with the sight of a satellite
I can't always see from here, the bigger picture disappears
[Outro]
The bigger picture disappears
The bigger picture disappears
The bigger picture disappears
The bigger picture disappears
The bigger picture disappears
The bigger picture disappears
The bigger picture disappears
The bigger picture disappears
665 (Fight back)
665 (Fight back)
Fight back
Fight back (665)

Genius Annotation

“Satellite” is the sixth track on Fearless Fred Fury. While recording the album, Violent J tweeted a long Twitter thread explaining this song’s use of the word “satellite.” Here’s an excerpt from the thread:

Now were working on a song called “Satellite” which is actually a term we came up with at the Hatchet for when we’re trying to get some body to look at the bigger picture… We say to each other shit like “Man you need to Satellite this shit bro”. Ninjas get caught up in the day to day grind of life. Always dealing with whatever bone is right infront of you, we sometimes fail to see how blessed we actually are…

This song’s chorus is sung by Anthony “Ant G” Gonzales, a Michigan singer signed to Monstar Entertainment, the record label created by Psychopathic Records member Lyte. Ant G is in the song’s music video, which was released on June 5, 2019.

The chorus interpolates the chorus of Detroit band Control Freq’s “Satellite”, which was featured as track 17 of The Juggalo Show, where Violent J described the band as his homies and praised their music. A voice recording from a member of Control Freq, known as Charm Farm at the time, is featured on Mutilation Mix.

Genius Answer

Violent J described the song’s use of the word “satellite” in a Twitter thread:

Now were working on a song called “Satellite” which is actually a term we came up with at the Hatchet for when we’re trying to get some body to look at the bigger picture… We say to each other shit like “Man you need to Satellite this shit bro”. Ninjas get caught up in the day to day grind of life. Always dealing with whatever bone is right infront of you, we sometimes fail to see how blessed we actually are… We at Psychopathic often fail to recognize how fortunate we actually are because this day to day job can be so stressful… We deal with all these bones and dilemmas in our every day life and so sometimes it’s easy to forget how fuckin lucky we really are to be able to work togeather with our child hood friends doing what we totally love to do for a living… So we came up with “satellite-ing” as a way to tell each other to rize up above what ever bone is in your face that your dealing with today and instead look at your life from the viewpoint of a satellite… Look at your life from way up there and you can better see how small today’s problem actually is and how from a much grander perspective, this shit actually ain’t bad at all!… We are actually crazy fortunate in life. Once we “satellite” ourselves and look at what we’re dealing with from the bigger picture, coming back down to earth and facing today’s problem then becomes a much easier thing to do… Telling somebody to “Satellite” themselves is actually very good advice for anybody!!!!… Unless that person is terminally ill, and they’ve led a non stop evil existence and they’re doing a natural life bid in the hole of a high security prison located in a dessert and the air conditioner is broke and they’re never planning on fixing the shit… In that case that person probably much better off dealing with their day to day problems and never looking at the bigger picture”…VJ
