With its relaxing percussion and memorable horn section, “Absolutely Everything” proves a worthy and contrasting counterpart to the drum and bass-heavy “Beautiful Night”. Together, the two songs make up the b-section of “Lifted”, one of Lighthouse Family’s most popular singles. Whilst the duo’s songs are usually agapic in nature, “Absolutely Everything” stands almost sole in their discography as a record that can undoubtedly be dubbed a “love song”.
In 2002, Lighthouse’s last single “I Could Have Loved You” also featured “Absolute Everything” as its b-side, but the single found little success as it did not chart. Quite notably, whilst “Absolutely Everything” commonly appears on compilation albums, “Beautiful Night” does not, despite its more prominent placement on the “Lifted” single and its inclusion on the Ocean Drive album.
