About

Genius Annotation

The fourth track on Dear Wormwood, an
instrumental.

In “Bitter Water” we see the protagonist begin her movement away from her lover, though she has not left yet. In “There Beneath” we see the wind, leaves, etc. reaching for the east (i.e. the new aeon represented by the dawn and the ‘blue hours of morning’ that mark it).
Though “In the Blue Hours of Morning” is an instrumental, I will extrapolate and say that it marks a turn in the album.
In the next track (“Exeunt”) the protagonist definitely leaves her lover. In “Caesar”, which follows “Exeunt”, the king alluded to in “There Beneath” is crowned and the new aeon marked by his reign begins.
