City Girls’ Yung Miami Defends Her Verse On Chloe x Halle’s “Do It” Remix After Online Criticism

“My verse was for the kids & TikTok period.”

Chloe x Halle recruited an all-star female lineup for the remix of their hit single, “Do It,” including Doja Cat, Mulatto, and City Girls. Not everyone on social media was feeling the verse by City Girls' Yung Miami, prompting her to fire back in defense of herself on Twitter.

She started off by saying her verse was aimed at young fans and a TikTok audience:

Soon after, she shared a series of tweets acknowledging the criticism and saying she hoped her verse would grow on fans:

On the track, Yung Miami spits about her girl-squad and the luxuries her rap career affords her:

These my queens, these my girls (Girls)
I don’t do pretend (No)
Ice check, wrist check, Patek on ten (Ice)
Big rocks, big bags, waist be looking slim (Ow)
She keep looking at us but I know she can’t swim (City)

“Do It” already stands as Chloe x Halle’s most popular song on several platforms. It has more than 42 million Spotify streams as well as 122,000 Genius pageviews. The song peaked at No. 83 on the Billboard Hot 100, the sisters' first chart entry. The new remix could push the track even higher. The sisters previously broke down the original version of the song on Genius' Verified:
