Juice WRLD References ‘The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air’ On Lil Tecca’s “Ransom (Remix)”

It marks the first collaboration between the young rappers.

Lil Tecca’s breakout hit, “Ransom,” recently earned the teen rapper his first Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. Today, the New York rapper recruited Juice WRLD for the official remix, which retains the original production by Nick Mira and Taz Taylor. It marks the first collaboration between the young MCs.

The remix adds Juice WRLD’s ad-libs to the chorus, as well as a new verse from the Chicago rapper. He uses a reference to the 1990s TV show, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, to describe his come-up and wealth. Genius contributor ibmac26 breaks it down:

With the original version of “Ransom” currently spending its second week at No. 10 on the Hot 100, perhaps the remix will give the single an additional boost needed to rise up the chart. Juice WRLD is no stranger to Hot 100 success. His Mira-produced breakout hit, “Lucid Dreams,” peaked at No. 2 in 2018.

Lil Tecca recently performed “Ransom” live on Genius' series Open Mic:
