Some people say that the song “Good Guy” by Eminem has a double meaning: one literal, about a relationship with a woman, and one metaphorical, about his relationship with the rap game. Other people say this is a stretch. What do you think about it? Because I don’t know what to believe.

I’m doubt that, I mean he already did what you are describing in 25 to Life which is a much better song IMO. I think this was just him trying to write something around Jessie Reyes' chorus, solid track and video though.

nah people think too much and give meaningless things a meaning. but on the other hand, music is open for you to interpret it yourself. so whatever you want to believe.

Jessie Reyez’s hook on this track is pretty infectious and if it was just her I think it could’ve been a bigger hit and an overall better song.

Eminem just doesn’t fit on these pop tracks despite having commercial success with them before. I think if he avoids pop, trap, and overflexing his lyricism he could make decent music again.

Eminem said in his interview with Sway that he played the beat and Jessie wrote the hook, so his parts were probably written around it. She wrote about a “good guy” and Em based the song on it. I doubt it’s a metaphor for the music industry.
