in their eyes
but they don’t realise
their career is compromised
cause they internalised

This isn’t gonna go over well at all but THIS IS MY OPINION. Nirvana is massively overrated, pretentious, psuedo-intellectual garbage. I think Kurt Cobain was a pompous cunt but his music came out at exactly the right time in order to have an impact. Talented musicians but lyrically never liked em. Bleach is a solid album though.

well if they have a solid album then i dont think theyd be the worst artist of all time

November 22nd, 2020

guns n roses suck bon jovi too

@theillestmanalive05 Simple Plan is a great choice. Couldn’t understand how people liked that, it’s pop punk only not fun to listen, just whiny, annoying, and generic.

And in another case of personal opinion, I find offensive to describe The White Stripes as “music” (hearing Seven Nation Army being chanted is an automatic mute button for me), and by extension everything by Jack White sucks too.

jack whites good

November 22nd, 2020

jus cuz a song is overplayed like seven nation army doesnt mean it sucks jus means its overplayed and that doesn’t mean the artist created it is the worst artist of all time

Well, the other White Stripes songs I’ve heard only made me unimpressed and\or angry. And Jack White wrote the worst James Bond theme ever, which is a feat considering how Madonna’s song was!

(sidenote: funny to see Nirvana being described as “pseudo-intellectual”, when often the lyrics are self-admitted nonsense – always impresses me how here on Genius there are a few of those songs earn deep analysis or interpretations, such as the top comment here, when it’s just plain gibberish; but yes, Kurt was pompous, he basically only liked to hear underground punk bands and lambast whatever was mainstream)

Music is not a competition.

November 25th, 2020

@Szerj AMEN!

November 25th, 2020

I was expecting people to be dissing rappers and pop stars but instead were arguing about the white stripes

November 26th, 2020

Well, the topic is on Rock Genius, we’ll be biased towards good old rock. (or really bad, in case of the White Stripes) Even if pop and rap have no dearth of bad artists!

I don’t understand the obsession with Billie Eillish. She sounds awful to me.

Who is the worst artist of all time

Nirvana, Guns N' Roses, Bon Jovi, The White Stripes

Come on guys, really? I mean, Axl Rose is a complete jackass, but still…

Trapt, Simple Plan, Creed

We’re getting a little closer here, but as far as mainstream rock goes, Headstrong isn’t even a bad single. We can go far, far worse. Simple Plan is indeed awful, but they aren’t rock bottom.

Kurt was pompous, he basically only liked to hear underground punk bands and lambast whatever was mainstream

Have you heard what was mainstream in the 80s? Can you blame him?

Billie Eillish

Nope. Overplayed? Maybe. But if Billie Eillish is the worst artist you can think of, you just aren’t even trying. Try growing up in the boy band era (and anything else from the late 90s to early 00s aimed at teenyboppers).

Actually terrible music:
1. Freaxxx by BrokeNCYDE
2. Anything (and I mean anything) by Blood on the Dance Floor. Pedophile music. Not even kidding. Lead singer under investigation by the FBI. And it’s not even subtle – about 10 seconds of any of their songs is enough to make you go “Yep, this guy’s a kiddie diddler.”
3. Philosophy of the World by The Shaggs.
4. Guess what? Neo-nazis make music too. It’s even worse than you’re thinking.
5. GG Allin
6. If using RYM isn’t cheating, then apparently anything Onision has ever touched.
7. My Teenage Dream Ended by Farrah Abraham. This one is so baffling that it got labeled “Outsider art.”
8. Angelic 2 The Core by Corey Feldman is a more recent one I’ve seen floated around.
