Dust N' Bones Lyrics

He lost his mind today
He left it out back on the highway
On "65"

She loved him yesterday
Yesterday's over
I said okay
That's all right
Time moves on
That's the way
We live an hope to see the next day
That's all right

Sometimes these things they are so easy
Sometimes these things they are so cold
Sometimes these things just seem to rip you right in two
Oh no man don't let 'em get ta you

She loved him yesterday
He laid her sister
She said O.K.
An that's all right
Buried her things today
Way back out deep
Behind the driveway
And that's all right

Sometimes these women are so easy
Sometimes these women are so cold
Sometimes these women seem to rip you right in two
Only if you let 'em get to you

Ya get out on your own
And you/take all that you own
And you/forget about your home
And then you're/just fuckin' gone

There's no logic here today
Do as you got to, go your own way
I said that's right
Time's short your life's your own
And in the end
We are just

I think this is definitly about Izzy too, because with that first line, "he lost his mind today, he left it out back on the highway, on 65", he's talking about Interstate 65, which goes through Izzy and Axl's hometown, Lafayette, Indiana. So ya I agree this is probably about not worrying about all the bullshit in life and just have a good time.

Axl said at a concert in Noblesville in 1991 that it was ''all about some guy that gets his brains splattered out on [highway 65]'' - which would make the rest of the song's depressing lyrics make more sense when they're all dancing around a death / suicide.

This song really sounds a lot like Fourteen Years. Maybe they are fraternal twins. The part when Axl starts going with the "Ya get out on your own" reminds me of Alice Cooper. Unless maybe it is since Alice performed with them on The Garden later on in the album.

This is an Izzy song, along with Fourteen years. So they are bound to have similar sounds. I'm pretty sure it's Izzy on most of it.

The best GN'R song, in my opinion. "14 Years" is awesome...obviously Izzy had something good going on... Even if Chinese Democracy ever DID get released, it just wouldn't be as good without the other band members.. Axl Rose can't carry an album by himself. The songs will be mediocre at best

I think this song is about a relationship with a cheating man. Then again I really don't know...

Very simple. We are all gonna die, so what's the point? Accept it, don't let shit get to you, enjoy life.

My favorite GNR Izzy song. Says it all. "Time's short your life's your own, in the end we are just dust n bones" Live life as you want and fuck everyone else. Izzy is great.

The part of the song "Ya get out on your own" is Slash doing vocals. I saw him do it live and it was exactly the same voice as on the cd. Ha Slash sings...:-)
