A Northern Soul Lyrics
Looking to find his way back home
He's coming from that same old road
You know the one your folds don't know
I was born in a rented room
My mother didn't get no flowers
Dad didn't approve of me, do you?
And I don't think I'm coming back
So come on come in inside of me
Let's spread it all around
I want to see if they cure my ills
I've no time for love and devotion
I tell you so many lies and then I'll let you go into the night
And I don't think I'm coming down
I'm alive with something inside of me...
And I can't seem to get it out
This is a tale of a northern soul
Looking for his way back home
And my friend said, "Come in side of me
And your speakers are telling the truth
Coming through and into your room on a river of sound"
I know there's fighting on the street below
But I dont' care coz I'm a Northern Soul
And I'm looking for a way back home
Too busy stayihg alive
World keeps turning everybodys learning people trapped of a heart attack.
I am a northern soul coming into your home and if you dont like my sound get up and turn it down.
Apparently written for Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher, this is the totally coolest song on the album. The guitar screetching and bass in this song are absolutely killer and gets your foot tapping. This might be about the mean streets of Manchester where the Gallaghers grew up on, but it takes on a more generic meaning as someone who is just enjoying life day by day. Very uplifting and fun song!
Richard Ashcroft wrote this song as a tribute to his good mate Noel Gallagher. Noel wrote Cast No Shadow as a tribute to Richard.
Great song.
Ashcroft and Noel, 'kin amazing song writers. Can't think of anyone better out there...
These people deserve some recognition. This is Wow.
okay, i've never heard this, but the title reminds me of the beatles. because they had "a northern song" and "rubber soul". i'm assuming, since it's the verve, that it doesn't sound like the beatles, but it just reminds me, title-wise of them.
this songs brilliant, a tribute from richard ashcroft to noel gallagher.. the pill-poppin, jaw punchin, manc , working class hero!
No time for old fashioned potion
I WANNA SEE IF YOU KNOW ME Take a look into my eyes I tell you so many lies and then I'll let you go into the night I'M ALIVE WITH SOMETHING INSIDE OF ME And I don't think I'm coming down I'm alive with something inside of me... And I can't seem to get it out
Obviously I love this track but £500 Monopoly money to anyone who can figure out the muttered mantra in the background behind "Too busy staying alive" at the end.
All I can make out is something like "... people trapped, having heart attacks..."?
song is a mix of pathetic story of upbringing, tale of a troubled man...with mixed emotions..give me a pile of pills...wanna see if it cures my ills.. I wanna see if you know me..I will tell you so many lies in bed..Speaking of youth.a young time where nothing matterred, The feeling that I am alive but a mix of emotions, Cant identify with just one cuz theres so many in his mind,,I am gonna die alone in bed,,,disturbing and haunting repeated a x 10... He is lost..looking for his way back home, he says he is afraid ... Its a fantasy story yet represents a mixed up adolescent that cannot manage his racing thoughts and emotions . It is a song of adolescence..coming of age..with a dark cloud looming on it because the outcome doesn't look bright..foreshadowing of whats to come . This represents the melancholy demeanor of the individual is profound yet poetic and touching
