Rosealia Lyrics
Into the crowd he'll never find you
If you walk real fast
And you stay down low
So many times so many chances
This one could be your last
The fighting has left you tired
You say no, no no
But the fighting goes on
Put on your mask
Wearing your cape
Put on your mask my Rosealia
His kind of love is gonna kill you
Do you fake a smile
As you dodge the blows
So many times so many chances
This one could be your last
The fighting has left you tired
You say no, no no
But the hurting goes on
Put on your mask
Wearing your cape
Put on your mask my Rosealia
Can rip your heart out
And jealousy
Can turn a hand into a fist
The fighting has left you tired
You say no, no no
But the fighting goes on
Put on your mask
Wearing your cape
Put on your mask my Rosealia
Wearin your cape
Put on your mask, my Rosealia
My Rosealia
Yeah yeah

wow, I can't believe nobody's commented on this one yet! this song has such great lyrics. I really think this is a cool song, an interesting story about a woman fleeing an abusive relationship in the middle of Carnivale.

"Put on your mask, wearing your cape" is also a reference to being at a Mardi Gras ball or parade, where the paraders are dressed festively, especially the dukes, who wear a mask and cape (they actually look frighteningly like Klansmen lol).

I love this song. Where have you gone my Rosealia?

wow, i didn't realize it had to do with Carnivale...is that the same as Mardi Gras? (they're from New Orleans, yes?)
Anyhow, i love the double meaning of "put on your mask, wearing your cape...". it's so beautiful. because on the one hand, the mask & cape hide her from her abusive husband and let her escape. but on ther other hand, it's like she's a super hero flying around & stuff. haha. it perfectly captures the duality of hiding & vulnerability with her courage & strength too. truly a tragic girl...so sad.

LOVE THIS SONG

being from louisiana i dont really care about new orleans actually but yeah i love better than ezra they are so awsome. they play at LSU alot never got a chance to see them yet.

ohwow by new orleans i meant mardi gras... my bad

Being from Louisiana I love this song by this New Orleans band. I know that the inspiration for this song came from one night the BTE guys were at a bar while travelling on tour and they met an older Spanish woman whom they talked with. She was constntly re-applying make-up and generally seemed a nice but sad figure.

Powerful lyrics. Plus, the instrumentals are wonderful. <3
