Hurray for
A child that makes it through
If there's any way
Because the answer lies in you
They're laid to rest
Before they've known just what to do
Their souls are lost
Because they could never find
What's this life for
What's this life for
What's this life for
What's this life for
I see your soul, it's kind of gray
You see my heart, you look away
You see my wrist, I know your pain
I know your purpose on your plane
Don't say a last prayer
Because you could never find
What's this life for
What's this life for
What's this life for
What's this life for
But they ain't here anymore
Don't have to settle the score
'Cause we all live
Under the reign of one king
But they ain't here anymore
Don't have to settle no Goddamn score
'Cause we all live under the reign
I said, you know, of
One king
One king
One king
But they ain't here anymore
Don't have to settle no Goddamn score
'Cause we all live under the reign
I said, you know, of
One king
One king
One king
But they ain't here anymore
Don't have to settle no Goddamn score
'Cause we all live under the reign
Of one king
A child that makes it through
If there's any way
Because the answer lies in you
They're laid to rest
Before they've known just what to do
Their souls are lost
Because they could never find
What's this life for
What's this life for
What's this life for
What's this life for
I see your soul, it's kind of gray
You see my heart, you look away
You see my wrist, I know your pain
I know your purpose on your plane
Don't say a last prayer
Because you could never find
What's this life for
What's this life for
What's this life for
What's this life for
But they ain't here anymore
Don't have to settle the score
'Cause we all live
Under the reign of one king
But they ain't here anymore
Don't have to settle no Goddamn score
'Cause we all live under the reign
I said, you know, of

'Cause we all live under the reign
I said, you know, of

One king
One king
But they ain't here anymore
Don't have to settle no Goddamn score
'Cause we all live under the reign
Of one king

Scott and Mark wrote this song about a friend who commited suicide. It just states that life is hard.."Hurray for a child that makes it through "
I interpreted the first verse to be about abortion. "Hurra for a child that makes it though. They're laid to rest before they know just what to do."
I heard that comment on the Q and A board at creed.com, and i must not have mentioned it in my post, but I am aware on why he wrote it this way. I know that it is similar to how Jesus acted while he was on the cross asking his father why he did not save him while they nailed him to the cross. Mark Tremonti and Scott Stapp were probably feeling a little bit of the same thing after hearing that their friend had commited suicide, and asking why God did not save him from himself.
Calm down, i didnt mean to piss you off... I am not comparing them to Jesus and if you would have made sense of my post, i meant that they might have felt similar... not that they are similar... the question "why have you forsaken me?" might play into it a little bit.. So the fact that you got so pissed at one little misconception amazes me. And by calling them a sell out band, do you really think that they are? It is quite obvious that they aren't... your sell out bands would be out there blaring music that everyone likes.. If creed had people writing their music, and playing their music and turning their music into the shallow shit factory that the media is today, then they would be a sell out.. But i am sure that they aren't. How else could this music have so many fans that like them for their music. The might be out to make a few bucks, but that doesn't mean they are a sell out.
I agree with myownprison333. It is obvious that these songs come from the soul. The sound they make and the lyrics aren't just something that money guzzling writers just think up. There was alot of effort put into this whole album, that is proof alone that they are not "sell-outs".
this song is good. but he could leave out G.D. That's ridiculous. But awesome song.
This is my favorite song. Although the more christian fans of creed didnt like this song at first because of him including "God damn" but it has a powerful meaning. If you like this song, download the acoustic version; It is a million times more powerful
anakalia ur right again but myownprison scott made comment about "God Damn" and he said that God knew wut he was talking about and were he was coming from with saying those words cuz he was pissed that his friend commited suiside and he was pissed at God and shit
Great song!
This is definitely my favorite Creed song. I'm such a Tremonti fan and he does such a good introduction into the song. I'm gonna marry him someday :)
This is my favorite Creed song. I love it. I could listen to it forever! Thanks.
