In my opinion, this song is on their top five or ten best songs! The bass line, the guitar, the synthesizer and the voices are incredible!
Early Pink Floyd is so sweet, psychedelic and sarcastic at the same time!
If you have ever read The Catcher in the Rye, this song describes EXACTLY how Holden Caulfield feels. He gets drunk, feels empty, hates all the "phonies". Goes to a show with Sally, he disappoints her somehow or other, and doesn't really have fun. Basically he just feels empty whenever he interacts with people.

Early Floyd songs are extremely different from what Floyd would become. That is why they are able to stand up to the masterpieces of later Floyd. This is one of those songs.
Rick Wright's songs are very interesting. I'm not sure that I like them as much as the band's others, but they're still good.

I simply want to know what is the significance of the song's title. Does anyone have any ideas? The lyrics are straightforward, but I don't see what the title has to do with the lyrics.
