My eyes are so rootless
They wander and I follow
I keep staring, I can't stop it
I know I shouldn't but I can't stop it

I'm such a cute girl
I'm so jealous
I wish I looked exactly like her
What's it like to have that body?
I'm gawking while I wonder

S-T-A-R-I-N-G
I can't stop staring
S-T-A-R-I-N-G
I can't stop staring

With my envy I steal glances
Resentful fault finder
This peek-a-boo's become a problem
Predisposed cat fighter

S-T-A-R-I-N-G
I can't stop staring
S-T-A-R-I-N-G
I can't stop staring

I can't stop staring

I can't stop staring

I love this song. Girls can't deny that they've felt this way. We've all seen a girl that we were envious of and couldn't take you eyes off of them because you just wanted to know what it would be like to be them.

this song is self-explanitory. it accentuates an average girl's insecurities and her envious thoughts about other girls who look prettier than themselves. i can definetly relate to this one.

First, I know this is probably a case of my imagination seeing things that aren't there. Second, I don't believe this is how Gwen actually feels, but how the character in the song feels. Now that that's out of the way, I think another possibility of this song is that the narrator is realizing subconsciously that she has lesbian (or bisexual) tendancies, and this "cute girl" is really stirring up those feelings. Since she still hasn't come to terms with this, she interprets her feelings of the stereotypical bitchy jealousy discussed in the other interps. I'm not saying that's definitely what's happening, but it's possible (and I'm sure it's happened in real life more than a few times).

    My Interpretation

I love this song because, which girl hasn't ever felt like this before?! Although Gwen is pretty, obviously; that doesn't mean that she has never ever felt insecure about herself. In fact, many of her songs talk very openly about her superficial insecurities! Women are the best judges when it comes to other women's beauty, so it's happened to all of us that we see a girl that we just can't stop STARING at! We literally wonder how it must feel to be her. I like this song because plenty of girls and women can relate to this. :)

I can totally relate to this song!! I always get it in my head when I’m going through a ‘staring’ phase!!

I swear I’ve heard the bells/cymbal noises at the end before? Like in a film or something? Not sure.

Gadjits, The
He reuses the verse melody from the previous album's "Dirty Little Religion", the topics of the verses are all over the place, and he packs too many words into one line (goes to show...) and too few in another (it's pretty hard to find), and rhymes "Henley Regatta" with "Persona non grata", but gets away with it all as only he could.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
