Cyrus Jones 1810 to 1913
Made his great grandchildren believe
You could live to a hundred and three
A hundred and three is forever when you're just a little kid
So Cyrus Jones lived forever

Gravedigger
When you dig my grave
Could you make it shallow
So that I can feel the rain
Gravedigger

Muriel Stonewall
1903 to 1954
She lost both of her babies in the second great war
Now you should never have to watch
As your only children lowered in the ground
I mean you should never have to bury your own babies

Gravedigger
When you dig my grave
Could you make it shallow
So that I can feel the rain
Gravedigger

Ring around the rosy
Pocket full of posy
Ashes to ashes
We all fall down

Gravedigger
When you dig my grave
Could you make it shallow
So that I can feel the rain
Gravedigger

Little Mikey Carson 67 to 75
He rode his
Bike like the devil until the day he died
When he grows up he wants to be Mr. Vertigo on the flying trapeze
Oh, 1940 to 1992

Gravedigger
When you dig my grave
Could you make it shallow
So that I can feel the rain

Gravedigger
When you dig my grave
Could you make it shallow
So that I can feel the rain
Feel the rain
I can feel the rain
Gravedigger

Gravedigger

The gravedigger symbolizes death. The song is basically telling you to live out your life to the fullest, and to stay strong through all your pain and suffering. By the time the gravedigger comes looking for you, you're going to want something good for people to remember you by. In essence, life is sacred, and we need to cherish it before the gravedigger comes to visit us.

This song is amazing, I'm so upset I didn't hear it live when I saw them a month ago.Regardless, dave rocks, I'd love to hear this song with a full band though - can't you just imagine Boyd or Leroi jamming to this..or steffan..ahh..hopefully they'll release it eventually.

I just heard this song for the first time, it was live at the Gorge in Washington, it mezmerized all 20,000 people that were there. He played it as an encore at the end before he ended with Ants Marching. He also played Satellite and One Sweet World at this performance and apparently the concert is being turned into a documentary for TV or DVD. My friends think it's going to be a CD too, because he usually doesn't play Sattelite or One Sweet World Live.

Its about the love of life and living everyday to its fullest and loving the ones around you, because you never know when you'll see the Gravedigger for one of them

The lyrics are incomplete, the chorus is not there. If you read that part, you can tell he talks about war. He said that this song is for his father.
