I wake up everyday on
The wrong side of the bed
But I won't lay down on the floor
Like I'm the whore in your head
Call me a failure
Pretender, sex-offender, infector
Say I killed all my friends
And I deserve to be dead.

Kiss baby kiss
Bang baby bang
Suck baby suck
It's Vodevil
Kiss baby kiss
Bang baby bang
Suck baby suck
It's Vodevil

This isn't music and we're not a band
We're 5 middle fingers on a motherfucking hand
This isn't music and we're not a band
We're 5 middle fingers on a motherfucking hand

I won't pull out I just came
I want all of the blame
your love is tin, faith is thin
No concept of pain, right to complain
All you fagazines, senile teens
Jaw me black ball me
Deejay yourself away and turn your back
It will be easier to stab

Kiss baby kiss
Bang baby bang
Suck baby suck
It's Vodevil
Kiss baby kiss
Bang baby bang
Suck baby suck
It's Vodevil

This isn't music and we're not a band
We're 5 middle fingers on a motherfucking hand
This isn't music and we're not a band
We're 5 middle fingers on a motherfucking hand

I'm not ashamed you're entertained
But
I'm not a puppet
I am a grenade

Kiss baby kiss

Vaudeville was a form of comedic theatre in the thirties and forties that was structured around exaggerating differences to make them look funny. Race was often poked fun at (minstrel shows with blackface came from this) as was religion, people with disabilities, and even personality qwerks. Things that were thought to be ugly or make people stand out were exaggerated and turned into a centerpiece rather then something you politely try to ignore. It was about showcasing and glamorizing ugliness, sort of saying 'this is me and I'm proud and fuck you if you think differently'. This relates to the song in that Manson is saying 'Yeah, I'm a womanizer and a drug addict, I'm decadent and it's a part of me and if you think that's bad then whatever' ('this isn't a show; this is my fucking life \ I'm not ashamed, you're entertained \ but I'm not a puppet; I am a grenade')

You should like Manson for his music, not just his appearance. He's not making music for you, he does it for himself. Beside's he'll probably change next CD, he always does, I mean, come on, he covered "Personal Jesus" for his new greatest hits, that's definetly not 1930's depression (1 theme of GAOGT).

i think song is absolutely awesome. Apparently it was written while he was on a plane and the image that the Marilyn Manson band emit when they walk through the airport, sort of a F-you attitude. I can remember a time when i completely related to this song.

I agree with razormasticator, this is one of the worst tracks I've heard by Manson. I would like to believe that the golden age is one large satire, like The New Shit, of modern bands. But of course it could just be that he's just sold out and records like this are meaningless 13 year-olds fodder. Songs like this one suggest its the latter.

well i hardly think that this album deserved such a beating.you are failing to see the underlying tones of it. this is a new stage of marilyn mansons life...one that scares me quite frankly. this is not a sell out album these are marilyn mansons words and they show a bitter lonliness i have never before sensed in his music. he always kept us torn between weather to see him as a vulnerable, broken man (such as in tracks like man that you fear) or an 'antichrist superstar' but we all knew that the vulnerability was there. in this album, and tracks such as Slutgarden, he is covering it up. he is portrayign himself as nothign more than a heartless sex fiend which we all know is not entirely true. the hurt is still there, it comes up briefly in the track Spade ([Untranslated]) He just seems to be gettign better at hiding it. personally i loved this new album it has that "Fuck You" attitide about it that is awsome for driving or when you straight up feel like beign bitchy, and the music itself, aside from lyrics, are incredible as well. dont be so quick to judge it. theres always somethign more than what you hear.

Warren wanted a Beach Boys thing for this one, and Carl Wilson and Billy Hinsche came in, with Carl arranging the vocal parts. The other harmony vocalists (credited as the "Gentlemen Boys") were Jackson Browne, J.D. Souther, Zevon's longtime backers Waddy Wachtel and Jorge Calderon, and Linda Rondstadt/Stone Poneys guitarist Kenny Edwards.

Corpse I Fell In Love With
Gadjits, The
He reuses the verse melody from the previous album's "Dirty Little Religion", the topics of the verses are all over the place, and he packs too many words into one line (goes to show...) and too few in another (it's pretty hard to find), and rhymes "Henley Regatta" with "Persona non grata", but gets away with it all as only he could.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
