This place we live, it is not where we belong
And I miss who we were and the that town we could call our own
Going back to get away after everything has changed
Everything has changed
(Do you remember that? Do you remember that?)
Everything has changed
(Could you help me push aside all that I have left behind?)
Everything has changed
(Do you remember that? Do you remember that?)
I won't get used to this, I won't get used to being gone
And going back won't feel the same if we aren't staying
And going back to get away after everything has changed
Everything has changed
Everything has changed
(Do you remember that? Do you remember that?)
Everything has changed
(Could you help me push aside all that I have left behind?)
Everything has changed
(Do you remember that? Do you remember that?)
It's taking up our time
It's taking up our time
We can't go back at all
It's taking up our time we can't go back
We can't go back at all
It's taking up our time we can't go back
We can't go back at all
It's taking up our time, taking up our time
Do you remember that?
Do you remember that?

'Cause you remind me of a time when we were so alive Do you remember that? Do you remember that?
The vocals in this song are beautifully arranged. This could be related to something besides their touring. Like, leaving your home and then coming back. Maybe even just out-growing everything you once loved. I mean, sometimes things/people change. It's a part of everyday life. But, sometimes, other people that once liked you now don't because you changed too much (even though you couldn't truly control that). The majority of people don't like change, including myself. But, anyways, this is one of my favorite Paramore songs.

Anyone who knows what Teen Mania's Honor Academy is should comment me back.
If you are an intern or are alumni from the HA than you can relate to this song.
"and when we get home, i know we won't be home at all"
Its odd. you go away for a year to define what you believe and to figure out exactly who you are, and when you come back its often not home anymore. the people you used to know or used to "relate to" you all of a suddent, don't.
You are changed and they are not.
This song reminds me of my Honor Academy family every time i listen to it. it's probably my favorite Paramore song.

so yeah i know that this song is about how paramore got famous and everything feels different and stuff but for me it's about my life; like paramore talks about how they miss franklin, but for me, the place i miss is happiness. "Everything has changed" basically to me means that as you grow older things change and you find yourself in different places "This place we live, it is not where we belong" to me is that we now live in a world of sadness and even though you don't belong here, you can't out of it ("we can't go back at all") "I won't get used to this, i won't get used to being gone" well this is basically how everyone would feel if they have all of a sudden hit the bottom; they won't be used to being at the bottom and they would miss being wherever they were. "going back won't feel the same, if we aren't staying going back to get away, after everything has changed" again, it won't feel the same if you think you're getting better but all of a sudden you hit the bottom once again and every now and then you try to go back to happiness to get away from depression but it doesn't work, because you're stuck in depression.

Here are the Actual Lyrics (Thank god I found them because I was desperate to know what was said in the background of the chorus' Second Line >_

yep. i love this song so much, especially the vocals when the guitarist joins in with hayley.

This song serves as an ode to the band's hometown in Tennessee, written and sung in a rather loose form of a passionate lament. The lyrics are short and pretty simple, but are packed full of meaning, focusing on three main themes - memories, homesickness, and the inevitable change with time.
The idea of recalling memories is directly evoked with words such as "remind" and "remember," and the recurring lines of "It's taking up our time again" and "we can't go back at all" suggest that the memories are persistent and unable to be relived. Additionally, the line "And I miss who we were and the town we could call our own" summons a clear sense of longing for what is now only present in the past.
The thought of homesickness is brought up in the very first line, with the repetition of the word "home." The line "And going back won't feel the same if we aren't staying" expresses the desire to remain in the hometown, rather than leaving it again.
Most importantly, however, is the idea of changing with time. The word "time" is repeated numerously, as well as the line "Everything has changed," obviously hinting that the current town (overall) is profoundly different from its past self. When viewed alongside the related theme of memories, a stark juxtaposition occurs in the sense that while the actual memories do not change with time, the physical location associated with the memories changes dramatically.
I adore this song and I appreciate its sad, yet personal themes, as well as its overall message - we can never truly return to the "time when we were so alive."

Absolutely one of the most heartfelt songs on the album besides 'My Heart'. Sometimes things change...

when i read these lyrics i cant help to think its the end of a relationship(with a friend or a gf/bf) as well as the end of college. "and when we get home, i knwo we wont be home at all this place we live, its not where we belong And I miss who we were in the town we could call our own Going back to get away after everything has changed" here i feel like shes talking about her and her bf returning home...
when i read these lyrics i cant help to think its the end of a relationship(with a friend or a gf/bf) as well as the end of college. "and when we get home, i knwo we wont be home at all this place we live, its not where we belong And I miss who we were in the town we could call our own Going back to get away after everything has changed" here i feel like shes talking about her and her bf returning home after college but knowing that even though thats what she's calling it, her heart is still in that college town with someone special she met while she was there. She's saying she misses that town and how she felt with that special person in that town where she finally established her independence being away from her hometown for the first time. Her first home away from home. Now there both leaving school and going back to their perspective home maybe after graduation and future plans prevent her and this special person from being together or maybe after a bitter break up they decide to leave school because being in that town without him changes the whole situation and she no longer feels comfortable there. "So we stand here now and no one knows us at all I won't get used to this I won't get used to being gone And going back won't be the same if we aren't staying Going back to get away after everything has change" In the previous verse she was speaking about the future("and WHEN we get home") i think right now she's still at school and she talking about how the friends that they had both made while they were together at college can't get use to the idea of them being apart since they had always known them to be together and how she herself cant even get use to the idea of not having that person and she wont get use to being gone is refering back to the idea of returning home. She also talking about how in the future, going back to this town to get away from her hometown and relive some of the past in this town and with this person (maybe a visit or maybe to be with him) isn't a good idea because either she knows she'll have to return home eventually or shes talking about rentering a relationship with him and she knows that going back to him to get away from uncertinty is dumb because she knows they will never last because everything has changed now due to actions or an exchange of words that may have taken place during the breakup. I know franklin is where there from mabe they call the song that because thats the place she's returning to to get away. thats the place she in away has become to resen

im thinking they wanna go back to a sense of normalcy, sure living out theyre dream is wonderful...but at what cost? .Fleming.

this song is definitly about touring. i know this feeling very well..

It reminds me of how i feel about my college now that i've graduated
