There's so much more about you that you never let them see
You turn away
But not to me
And I know how they tried to take you
Held you up and meant to break you down
But you can't be

For so long I tried to reach you
I know I'm almost there
I'm close enough for you to see

You've been hiding in the shadows
Have you forgotten how we used to dream
Let me remind you
The light doesn't blind you at all
It just helps you see
Can you see

Yeah, you have become
Yeah, you have become beautiful

And I can't be the stranger that's been sleeping in your bed
Just turn around
And come to me
I feel all the pain inside
And everything you-ve been denied you feel
It's all you feel

You've been hiding in the shadows
Have you forgotten how we used to dream
But let me remind you
The light doesn't blind you at all
It just helps you see
Can you see

Yeah, you have become
Yeah, you have become beautiful
Yeah, you have become
Yeah, you have become beautiful

Brush back your hair and look around you
Feeling like the truth has found you here
You're here with me
Let love become the mirror
With no fear where you're from

You have become
Yeah, you have become
Beautiful

It's a great song about how we become the people that we are. There is so much more to us that some people are scared to show, but if you look deep enough, it can be seen.

yeah, i feel thats pretty much it. personally, everyone has it in themselves to be something good, or something better, and something that means something to you. give everyone a chance, and the more you interact with that person, the more you will find that you have something in common with them if not more.

i relate it to a girl i used to think really nice, but she had alot of bad labels attached to her and somewhat of a reputation, and as much as it made me want to think it might mean something. i decided that id let myself find out. i got to know her, and i eventually went on to spend 3 years of my life with her. in a way, i think i might have brought the goodness out in her, or maybe it was already there, but nobody bothered to look for it it.

at the end of the day when it comes to judgements, the only person you can rely on, is yourself.

    once again, i agree.

    best lines

Brush back your hair and look around you Feeling like the truth has found you here

i just have this vision of some girl finally figuring out what is right in their life after years of struggle and growing into their own person and so at last you take a breath "and brush your hair back" as you put everything into perspective, because you have found truth in your life

geez the goos make me so deep

Alrite i don't have all that much to back this one up, but here it goes

I think its about a guy, and the girl were once in love, and after the break up, he could still see through her, and to him, she was almost perfect, and somthing happened, which everyone else thinks is a black mark, but to him, shes gained a new beauty.

haha, for me, Johnny's talking about this girl that he's either involved with romantically or just really good friends with.. and this girl was a very vivacious girl.. full of life and energy and she KNEW her dreams and was prepared to make her dreams reality... and everyone would stare as she walked by because she would shine. But then people her tore her down for whatever reasons: Jealousy, sheer evilness, whatever.. and that brought her down to the point where she wanted to hide from everyone.. but what Johnny's saying is that if she just ignores all of them and is her true self like she really was... then she'd be truly beautiful. I think that maybe Johnny is in love with this girl, but she won't let anyone in because her self esteem is so low.. so Johnny just wants to help her so badly.. that was my interpretation.

To me this is like seeing something inside someone that no one else can and that's what makes them special to you. That one thing that they keep from the world, but show you and that's why you love them the way you do.

i think it means he likes some one special to him and he is trying to get her attention but she didnt want it at first. he is trying to tell her by saying " CAN YOU SEE" and he aint giving up on her just yet.

To me, I think he's talking about this girl that came from a rough past. He's in love with her, but she feels like she's not good enough for him/for the world. So he's saying "You don't have to hide who you are anymore, I love you. Your past is over and you've become beautiful." The last lines kind of sum it up by saying, "...With no fear where you're from You have become beautiful" So my guess is that she's turned into a beautiful person despite all the crap she's had to put up with in her life and after all the people tried to tear her down.

My thing is there is this girl and she is just not out going at all hides her true self and her feelings. Well, he knows what she is and the real her. So with that it's kind of like I know the real you and it's beautiful. I don't know it's kind of hard to explain

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
