i dont thing red hot has an album that sucks. all of their music is unique and perfect in its own way. you can tell by their music what they were going thru at that time. especially in michigan is an awsome song especially becuase i am from michigan and i am going to be living in grand rapids in a couple of weeks and if you are a red hot fan you have to read Scar Tissue. its the best book i have ever read and it tells all of the meanings behind their songs so you dont have to bullshit what you think they were talking about.

I agree with alnervik. Besides, Anthony was born in michigan, and his mother does live there. He often spend the christmas with his family in michigan... plus, RHCP recorded Freaky Styley there too.... it's an important place for the chili...
The 3rd (final chorus) is incredible...between Keidis's voice, a great fuzz/distortion sounding guitar, and an awesome solo...its perfect

I missed BOTH the sports and the "fat state" references and I AM a Michigan resdident (but not born here). Wow, uh. I guess the "just to steal your luck" part has something to do with the Lions and Tigers not being too lucky, as in they aren't very good teams right now. Thank god for the Pistons and the Red Wings.

This song is so beautiful. I think it's about how one should enjoy life to the fullest, it's sweet but strong (cinnamon). It's like in Michagen he's in heaven; it's his childhood and her smile and his future. Anyone can life there, and it's really dreamy! he makes it seem that u can get away from anything there.. it's his perfect medacine. people make mistakes, they aren't innocent. you can't always hear the beautiful music of life but it's there.. michagen is his heaven, i don't know if it really exists, sort of a deamy ideal world.. he grew up there though... he did drugs there and rehab...
